CMR DOCUMENTS

CMR documents for international road transport, automated.

Auto-generate CMR documents from your delivery data. Multilingual, digitally signed at pickup and delivery, version-tracked, PDF and XML export. No more re-keying carrier and customer details into paper forms.

CMR CAPABILITIES

Everything CMR generation should be.

Built to the UN/CEFACT CMR convention standard, with practical extras for the realities of running cross-border road freight.

Auto-Generated From Order Data

CMR fields auto-populated from the delivery: sender, consignee, place + date of taking over, place of delivery, vehicle, goods description. Zero re-keying.

Multilingual Output

CMR generated in the appropriate language for the route: DE, EN, FR, IT, ES (more on request). Field labels translated; data values stay as entered.

Digital Signatures

Sender signs at pickup, receiver signs at delivery — both directly in the driver app or on the tracking link. Stored as PDF with timestamp + GPS.

Photo Attachments

Cargo condition photos at pickup, in-transit checkpoints, and delivery. All attached to the CMR record and viewable inline in the PDF.

Version History

Every CMR revision tracked — who changed what, when, and why. Original always retained. Useful for cargo damage disputes or customs inquiries.

PDF + XML Export

Standard PDF/A-3 for archival and printing. XML export for ERP / customs broker ingestion. Export all CMRs for a customer or date range in one click.

CMR FLOW

From international order to archived CMR, automated.

Five steps that used to take five separate paper forms — now one continuous digital flow.

1

International order created

Order entered with sender, consignee, and customs-relevant info. Trackosteps detects it's cross-border and auto-flags for CMR generation.

2

CMR auto-populated

All standard CMR fields filled from order data. Driver, dispatcher, and customer can review before pickup. Editable for any data missing or to correct.

3

Driver signs at pickup

Sender (or sender representative) and driver sign on the driver phone or tablet. Photos of cargo at pickup attached. CMR status: in-transit.

4

Receiver signs at delivery

Consignee signs on driver phone or via the tracking link. Receipt photos attached. Any cargo issues noted. CMR status: completed.

5

Final CMR archived + emailed

Final PDF with all signatures and photos auto-emailed to sender, consignee, carrier, and your operations team. Permanent archive in customer record.

CMR FAQ

Common questions about digital CMR.

Yes — across all EU member states. The CMR Protocol (e-CMR, ratified 2008) explicitly accepts electronic equivalents to the paper original. Trackosteps's signatures are eIDAS-compliant, which is the EU standard for digital signatures. We provide the audit trail (timestamp, GPS, signer identity verification) that customs and courts expect. Some non-EU CMR signatories may still require paper — we can print a fully equivalent PDF for those routes.
